Agency Receives Two 2013 Summit Creative Awards
May 29, 2013 – Los Angeles, CA – – Out of more than 5,000 submissions from 25 countries, MVC Agency, a boutique branding agency based in Los Angeles, is named a two-time winner in the 2013 Summit Creative Award® competition to honor creative work.
The Summit Creative Award (SCA) is a coveted honor that recognizes and celebrates the creative achievements of small and medium sized advertising agencies worldwide with annual billings under $30 million. This year’s SCA competition included companies from 25 countries, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Republic of Korea, Russia, United States, and United Kingdom.
Entries in 19 major categories are judged against a stringent set of standards. The 2013 panel of judges included experienced creatives like Mengwen Xiang, Art Director of Grey Group, United States and Steve Miller, VP & Creative Director of OneMethod, Canada. “Winning a Summit Creative Award is a significant accomplishment. With vetted judges, tough judging criteria, blind judging processes, and strict bylaws limiting winners, only deserving entries receive recognition.” Said Jocelyn Luciano, Executive Director for the Summit International Awards (SIA). “The creative work this year was outstanding. Watching the judges debate the details of individual entries in the run-off for the top spots was inspiring.”

It’s an honor to be acknowledged in two different categories.”
MVC won bronze in both the Logo Redesign category for their Emani rebrand and the Packaging Series category for their Pepe Aguilar packaging design.
“Rebranding is a daunting and scary process for any established boutique brand,” admitted Emani owner, Michelle Doan, “Their commitment and passion to our project paralleled ours at the corporate level. The new look of Emani was overwhelmingly well-received and we continue to attract new consumers.”
Pepe Aguilar’s manager, Gerardo Vergara, was pleased to hear about the award. Vergara stated, “MVC did an amazing job translating the vision we had for the albums into designs that not only popped out on shelves, but were distinguishable online and on mobile apps. One of the albums was recently honored with a Latin Grammy, learning about this award for MVC only makes us happier.”
