The Seldens Fall 2013 Idea Book is a magalog style brochure created to showcase the latest furniture and home decor collections at Seldens for the season, along with highlighting the insight and services of their interior designers. The piece received a Bronze award in the Brochure Consumer Product/Service category.

The Summit Creative Award (SCA) recognizes and celebrates the creative achievements of small and medium sized advertising agencies worldwide with annual billings under $30 million. Celebrating its 20th year, the SCA has firmly established itself as the premier arbiter of creative excellence for firms of this size and has become a coveted honor.

“Winning a Summit Creative Award is a significant accomplishment in ones career. With vetted judges, tough judging criteria, blind judging processes, and strict bylaws limiting winners, only deserving entries receive recognition.” Said Jocelyn Luciano, Executive Director for the Summit International Awards (SIA). “The creative work this year was outstanding. Watching the judges debate the details of individual entries in the run-off for the tops spots was inspiring.”

The announcement of these awards comes shortly after MVC became a seven-time winner in the Horizon Interactive Awards. The Seldens Fall 2013 Idea Book won “Best in Category” in Print/Brochure and the Cromatti website won Silver in the Ecommerce Website category. The combined wins total in 11 awards for MVC Agency so far this year.

“I am humbled by the attention and praise that MVC Agency has received,” explained MVC Creative Director and President Jason Pires, “We constantly challenge ourselves to push boundaries and break tradition to create truly compelling work. It’s invigorating to have our perspective and process validated by our peers.”

MVC Unveils New Brand Identity for Peters Realty Group

  • By admin

Peters Realty Group (PRG) is a real estate brokerage firm that deals in high profile commercial and residential real estate. The company was founded by Marv Peters in 2013 with a strong focus on delivering real-time results. Marv and his firm have been able to move a high volume of properties in one of the most competitive markets in the United States, the greater Los Angeles area.

Peters’ background in real estate brokerage over the years gave his company the experience and connections to succeed, but as a young company, PRG needed a high end brand identity to reflect their credentials. PRG enlisted the help of MVC to create the brand identity and stationery, but the project expanded to include direct marketing in print and email.

The process for developing the brand included working with the initials PRG and the symbolism of a lion’s bust, which brought the whole project together. The lion symbolically encompasses the strength, power, and ferocity of the PRG brand and is depicted holding a key in its mouth, which ties into the real estate theme and symbolizes the power to open and close deals on properties. Peters carries with him a very serious and professional attitude, but he’s also young and stylish. This idea played out through the different branding pieces, including both the typographical treatment and logo.

“The general consensus at PRG is that our branding looks very upscale and professional. I personally find it to be quite attractive,” concluded PRG founder Marv Peters.

The high end brand identity has positioned PRG as a top player in the real estate business and they have the results to back it up. They recently sold a landmark property with a restaurant on Venice Blvd.

“PRG is a unique model with unique values,” explains MVC Creative Director Jason Pires, “They needed a highly memorable brand identity to help them stand out in the real estate market. To make that possible, we developed a sophisticated creative solution for an age old concept.”

MVC’s Newly Rebranded 1-800-THE-LAW2 Identity Featured in the San Fernando Valley Business Journal

The New Brand Identity for 1-800-THE-LAW2 by MVC Agency – Los Angeles.

Jason Pires isn’t a lawyer but he knows a bit about how to market legal services.

The creative director of graphic design shop MVC Agency in Chatsworth, Pires recently created a logo for 1-800-THELAW2, a network of more than 120 attorneys in Southern California. It was the first time Walker Advertising, the company in San Pedro that owns 1-800-THELAW2 and its counterpart for Spanish-speaking clients, Los Defensores, had commissioned a logo for the 1-800 service.

Pires believes the Internet and other factors have made consumers more visual-minded, and legal brands need to respond by developing logos that simplify their offerings.

“Today we are bombarded with information all the time, and good brand logos encapsulate meaning and streamline it for consumers,” he said. “There has to be an immediate connection.”

Traditionally, law firms have used their name in a formal-looking typeface as their logo, or they have used familiar imagery of courthouses, pillars, gavels or the scales of justice. For the 1-800-THELAW2 assignment, Pires needed a logo that was creative but still communicated the serious tone of a professional firm.

“We wanted more of a human touch,” he said. “The law shouldn’t be scary to people. The final treatment is a courthouse, but the pillars are people.”
The new logo will be featured in consumer TV and Internet advertising in campaigns managed by Walker. In addition to attracting clients,Walker will use its new identity in its effort to recruit more lawyers to its network.

“There’s a tremendous amount of responsibility involved in a rebrand of this scale and the creative process was very involved,” said Jason Pires, MVC Agency’s Creative and Branding Director. “The final logos were based on first-round concepts, confirming my belief that great branding ideas should be founded on solid research, insight and a clear vision of the desired result.”

“We are extremely pleased with the creative and visual solutions that MVC provided Walker,” added Arciniega. “We presented them with a large creative brief and a long list of requirements, which were all fulfilled beyond what we felt would have been possible.”
